Ahmed Mahmoud graduated in 1996 from the screenwriting section at the Higher Institute for Cinemaâs direction department. He worked as a director for the Egyptian satellite channel beginning in 1996 and directed several television programs including ââEyoun al-Kamiraâ (âCamera Viewâ), âMagalat al-Cinemaâ (âCinema Magazineâ) and âRiwayyat Khaladatha al-Cinemaâ (âStories from the History of Cinemaâ) in addition to several documentaries and advertisements. Mahmoud then wrote several episodes of the comedy series âShabab Onlineâ in 2001, thereafter he wrote a few episodes of the drama series âBayn al-Nas al-Igtimaâyâ in 2003. That work was followed by his writing the comedy series â122 Nagdaâ in 2004. In 2008 Mahmoud put together a writing workshop under his supervision that included several writers. The workshop wrote the âTuk-Tuk Airlinesâ comedy series. Mahmoud Abou Zeid also has several film projects that are currently being implemented, those include âChatâ, âCaptain Onooshâ, âIbn Baladâ (âCountry Boyâ), âLoomanjiâ and âTaâm al-Hayyahâ (âTaste of Lifeâ). Moreover he has had several attempts at writing songs which include âMa Kontish Atsawarâ (âI Didnât Think Itâ), Karim Abou Zeidâs âRascal Binâ and Hatim Fahmyâs âQallat âEyneih Kalamâ (âHis Eyes Spoke to Meâ).
