On a large wooden raft heading toward the capital, Jeanne and Eugénie, two young peasant sisters, sail among the log drivers - precarious workers tasked with supplying Paris with firewood, a job reserved for men. Disguised as men, they share the boat with Maurice, a young log driver who treats them like his fellow workers.
