On one hand I have to give it to Alex Garland for not rehashing 28 days later. The themes are more fleshed out, the characters are more nuanced, and the narrative is much more personal. On the other hand it would’ve been a much better movie had he just done that. No notes for Danny Boyle, the camera work and editing was batshit crazy and disorienting but it fit perfectly. Also I think I’m the only person who liked the ending.
